Internet speed test
See how your connection performs right now.
Measure download, upload, latency and jitter.
Your data is processed in accordance with our Global Privacy Policy.
About your results
The test checks your internet connection. It starts when you choose Run speed test, and you can stop at any time.
A full test uses about 80 MB of data. Retries can use more.
What the measurements mean
- Download speed
- How quickly your device receives data, in megabits per second (Mbps). This affects how quickly lessons and files load.
- Upload speed
- How quickly your device sends data. Upload speed matters when you submit work or share your camera during a call.
- Latency
- The time between a request and its reply, in milliseconds (ms). A lower value means a faster response.
- Jitter
- How much latency changes between requests. A lower value helps keep calls steady.
- Latency under load
- The response time while the test transfers data. A large rise can explain lag when other people use your connection.
Read the result in context
Wi-Fi strength, other devices and your browser can affect the result. A short test can underestimate very fast connections. Repeat it at different times if you need to compare performance.
Packet loss is not measured. These readings do not guarantee that a particular lesson or video call will run smoothly.
Improve your connection
Move closer to your Wi-Fi router, or use an Ethernet cable if one is available. Pause large downloads before testing. If problems continue, share your measurements with your school’s IT team or internet provider.
