# Channels

**Channels** are group discussion spaces created by your teacher or administrator. They’re used for class announcements, Q&A, topic discussions, and collaborative conversations.

## Accessing Channels

1.  Click the **Inbox** icon in the top bar, then click **Full Inbox**.
2.  Select the **Discussions** tab.
3.  You’ll see a list of all channels you’ve been added to.

## Browsing Channels

Each channel is listed with its name and the date it was created. Click on any channel to open the full conversation.

-   Use the **search bar** to find a specific channel by name.

## Reading a Channel

Inside a channel, posts are shown with the newest post at the top. Each post shows:

-   The author’s name and avatar
-   When it was posted
-   The message content (text and images)
-   Comments and reactions on that post

## Commenting on a Post

Posts in a channel are created by your teacher or administrator — students comment on them rather than starting new ones.

1.  Open the channel and find the post you want to respond to.
2.  Click the **comment box** below the post.
3.  Type your comment (you can also attach an image).
4.  Press **Enter** or click **Send**.

> **Tip**
>
> Keep your comments relevant to the post. Your teacher can see everything posted in a channel.

## Replying to a Comment

1.  Find the comment you want to reply to.
2.  Click **Reply** below it.
3.  Type your reply and send it.

Replies are nested under the comment they respond to, keeping the conversation organized.

## Reacting to a Post or Comment

Click the **reaction icon** on any post or comment to add an emoji reaction (👍 👎 ❤️ 😂 😮 😢 🔥 ✨) — a quick way to acknowledge something without writing a comment.

## What You Can and Can’t Do

| Read posts | Yes |
| Comment on a post | Yes |
| Reply to a comment | Yes |
| React to a post or comment | Yes |
| Create a new channel | No — teachers/admins only |
| Create a new top-level post | No — teachers/admins only |
| Delete another user’s post | No |
| Remove members from a channel | No |

>
> If you need a new channel or topic created, ask your teacher or administrator.
