# Chat

The chat interface is the core of Aide. You can have text conversations with AI, attach files for analysis, and maintain a full history of all your past sessions.

## How Chat Works

1.  Type your message in the input bar at the bottom
2.  Press **Enter** to send (**Shift + Enter** for a new line)
3.  The AI responds with a formatted markdown reply
4.  Continue the conversation — context is carried across the full session
5.  Every conversation is saved automatically and accessible from the sidebar

> **Tip**
>
> Aide remembers the full context of your conversation. You don’t need to repeat yourself — just continue naturally and the AI builds on what was already discussed.
